2024 Nissan Rogue Reviews Summary

The Rogue is Nissan’s entry into a crowded compact crossover SUV segment that includes well-known models like the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, and Toyota RAV4, to name a few. The 2024 Nissan Rogue debuts refreshed styling and gets a tech overhaul highlighted by Google built-in apps, marking their first appearance in a Nissan.

Verdict: New tech features may be the headline, but an impressive powertrain and interior are what really make the 2024 Nissan Rogue stand out.

2025 Jeep Wrangler Reviews Summary

You know what you’re getting with the Jeep Wrangler: iconic looks and legendary off-road ability but an overall package somewhat out of step with the times. Even so, it’s a model that’s continually evolving, and Jeep does its best to appeal to the broadest cross-section of customers possible. You can get a Wrangler with two-door or four-door body styles, and you have a choice between two engines and six trim levels. This year, all 2025 Wrangler models have standard power windows and door locks, the V6/automatic drivetrain returns to the lineup, while new colours include ’41 (drab green), and Mojito (bright green).

Verdict: Rough, raw, and unrefined, the 2025 Wrangler is made for adventure and getting dirty. The top comes off. The doors come off. There are drain holes in the floor so you can hose it out. This Jeep can be unpleasant to drive daily, yet we love it just the same.

Look and feel

2024 Nissan Rogue

8/10

2025 Jeep Wrangler

6/10

The 2024 Nissan Rogue underwent its first major styling update since the 2021 model year, offering a refreshed look with a larger grille that seamlessly integrated with its distinctive stack headlights and daytime running lights. The rear fascia saw minor changes with redesigned inner taillight elements. The Rogue's exterior was further enhanced with satin-finish badging and new wheel designs, including 18-inch wheels for the SV grade and 19-inch machined-finish wheels for the Platinum model. The Platinum trim also featured more black exterior trim and an optional black roof. Inside, the Rogue's dashboard was updated to accommodate a new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, giving the interior a more premium feel. The Rogue SV models received new materials throughout the interior, and the Platinum trim boasted leather seats with quilted stitching, adding to its upscale appeal.

In contrast, the 2025 Jeep Wrangler Sport S hardtop presented a rugged, utilitarian design rooted in its military heritage. The black-on-black colour scheme was less than ideal for tropical climates, but the Wrangler's design focused on function over form. The Wrangler was available in various trims, including Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, and Rubicon X, with the Rubicon 392 discontinued in Canada after 2024. The Wrangler's interior was simple, with grey fabric dashboard trim, metallic accents, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Despite its basic interior, the Wrangler's appeal lay in its off-road capability and iconic design, making it a popular choice for adventure enthusiasts.

Performance

2024 Nissan Rogue

6/10

2025 Jeep Wrangler

7/10

The 2024 Nissan Rogue featured a unique 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine, part of Nissan's VC-Turbo lineup, which allowed it to vary its compression ratio for optimal power or fuel economy. This engine delivered an impressive 201 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque, outperforming competitors like the Honda CR-V and Subaru Forester. However, the Rogue's continuously variable transmission (CVT) was less impressive, as it was slow to transfer power to the wheels, detracting from the engine's performance. The Rogue's suspension was firmer than expected, affecting ride quality without improving handling, although it remained quiet during drives.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler offered a choice between a 3.6-litre V6 engine with a six-speed manual transmission and a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The latter produced 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, offering more torque than the V6. The turbocharged engine was also more fuel-efficient, with a rating of 11.0 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving. The Wrangler's standard four-wheel drive, high ground clearance, and generous approach and departure angles made it a capable off-road vehicle. However, its ride was rough, and the steering felt disconnected, creating challenges in narrow lanes. The Wrangler's three-star rollover resistance rating from the NHTSA was a concern, but its off-road prowess remained unmatched.

Form and function

2024 Nissan Rogue

2025 Jeep Wrangler

4/10

The 2024 Nissan Rogue offered competitive passenger space, with differences mainly in legroom compared to rivals like the Honda CR-V and Hyundai Tucson. The Rogue's cargo space was slightly less than the CR-V and Tucson but more than the Subaru Forester, with a maximum of 2,098 litres with the rear seats folded. The optional Divide-N-Hide system allowed for flexible cargo configurations, and the Rogue featured a power liftgate and motion-activated liftgate on higher trims. The centre console provided additional storage, although accessing the lower storage tray was somewhat awkward.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler posed challenges for entry and exit due to its high ground clearance and narrow door openings. The front seats were comfortable, with cloth upholstery and optional heated features. Rear-seat legroom was adequate, but taller passengers needed to be cautious of plastic hooks on the front seatbacks. Storage space was limited, with small items often ending up in cupholders. Accessing the cargo area required opening the tailgate and lifting the rear window, which could be inconvenient in tight spaces. The four-door model offered 897 litres of cargo space, expandable to 2,050 litres with the rear seats folded.

Technology

The 2024 Nissan Rogue featured an 8-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on lower trims, while SL and Platinum models received a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless connectivity and Google built-in apps. The Rogue was the first Nissan to offer Google built-in software, providing seamless integration with Google Maps and other apps. The dual 12.3-inch screen setup improved the infotainment experience, although the touchscreen occasionally experienced slow boot-up times. The Rogue also offered multiple USB ports and a wireless charging pad on higher trims, with an extended free trial period for Nissan Connect Services.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler's Uconnect 5 infotainment system included a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio preparation. The Sport S trim featured a standard eight-speaker stereo, with an optional nine-speaker Alpine premium sound system. The Convenience Group pack added a 7-inch digital display and passive entry features. The Wrangler's infotainment system remained easy to use, even with the roof panels removed, and the touchscreen was resistant to glare. The Wrangler also offered Jeep Connect services for off-road navigation and vehicle tracking.

Safety

The 2024 Nissan Rogue received strong safety ratings, with top "Good" scores from the IIHS in various crash tests and a five-star overall rating from the NHTSA. Standard safety features included automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warning. Higher trims offered ProPilot Assist, an advanced driver assistance system with adaptive cruise control and automated lane centring.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler introduced side curtain airbags as standard equipment, a significant safety upgrade. Optional safety features included blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, with forward collision warning available on higher trims. The Wrangler received a four-star frontal-impact rating and a three-star rollover resistance rating from the NHTSA. The IIHS awarded the Wrangler "Good" ratings for side-impact protection and moderate overlap frontal-impact tests, but the small overlap frontal-impact test resulted in a "Marginal" rating.
