2022 Nissan Rogue Reviews Summary

The 2022 Nissan Rogue is a two-row crossover compact SUV with frameless, unibody construction, riding on a platform that was all-new for 2021 and shared with the next-generation Mitsubishi Outlander. It comes with front-wheel drive (FWD) or available all-wheel drive (AWD) and in five trim levels. In Canada, FWD prices start at $29,148 before the $1,860 destination fees and AWD at $31,448, equating to a $650 increase for both models compared to the 2021 model year. All-wheel drive costs $2,300 on lower trim levels and is standard on higher trims. And those prices include a new, more powerful engine and a new transmission. At a fuel consumption as low as 7.2 litres per 100 kilometres combined, the 2022 Rogue is the current leader in its non-hybrid compact crossover SUV class.

2023 Genesis GV80 Reviews Summary

We first got an idea of the GV80 in 2017 at the New York Auto Show when the company debuted a concept. Fast forward to 2021 when we saw the first production model and we knew it would be a hit. Over the past two years, our admiration has only grown. Available in Canada with Advanced or Prestige packages, the GV80 is a midsize luxury SUV with plenty of features, offering stellar value for those who recognize a good deal when they see it.

Verdict: With great styling inside and out, plus a healthy choice of potent powertrains, the Genesis GV80 is an attractive and capable option in the midsize luxury SUV segment. Its technology can require a bit of a learning curve, but there are few true faults with this vehicle.

2022 Nissan Rogue

7/10

2023 Genesis GV80

9/10

The 2022 Nissan Rogue continued to build on its established reputation as a top seller in the compact crossover segment. Its design, which had matured significantly since its 2013 redesign, maintained a sophisticated and grown-up appearance. The exterior featured Nissan’s signature V-motion grille, multi-level LED headlights, and a sleek floating roof design. Inside, the Rogue offered a layered dash with contrasting colours and surfaces, creating a refined and detailed look. The centre console was notable for its electronic gear selector, which freed up space for additional storage. The cabin was equipped with Nissan’s Zero Gravity bucket-style front seats, providing comfort and support, while the second row offered ample legroom for passengers.

In contrast, the 2023 Genesis GV80 exuded sophistication and elegance with its bold grille and quad-lamp headlights. The midsize SUV, nearly 5 metres long, featured 22-inch alloy wheels on the Prestige trim, enhancing its stately presence. The rear design echoed the quad-lamp look with four-part taillamps, and the matte Brunswick Green paint added a touch of elegance. Inside, the GV80 boasted quilted leather seats in a dark green hue, complemented by metal and matte wood trim. The centre console was highlighted by three large dials for infotainment, transmission, and drive modes. While the 14.5-inch infotainment screen seemed somewhat out of place, the interior remained spacious and luxurious, offering a comfortable environment for occupants.
