2022 Jeep Wrangler Reviews Summary

For a long time, the Jeep Wrangler represented a vehicle class of one. Where else could you get a two-door or four-door convertible with removable doors, a fold-down windshield, and go-anywhere off-roading capability wrapped in retro styling cues? Today, the Ford Bronco meets that same description and, in some ways, it's superior to the 2022 Jeep Wrangler. But we love this anachronistic throwback of an SUV anyway, warts and all, even if the overall rating appears to suggest otherwise. And a handful of changes to the 2022 Wrangler do nothing but further cement our appreciation of this formerly one-of-a-kind vehicle.

2022 Nissan Rogue Reviews Summary

The 2022 Nissan Rogue is a two-row crossover compact SUV with frameless, unibody construction, riding on a platform that was all-new for 2021 and shared with the next-generation Mitsubishi Outlander. It comes with front-wheel drive (FWD) or available all-wheel drive (AWD) and in five trim levels. In Canada, FWD prices start at $29,148 before the $1,860 destination fees and AWD at $31,448, equating to a $650 increase for both models compared to the 2021 model year. All-wheel drive costs $2,300 on lower trim levels and is standard on higher trims. And those prices include a new, more powerful engine and a new transmission. At a fuel consumption as low as 7.2 litres per 100 kilometres combined, the 2022 Rogue is the current leader in its non-hybrid compact crossover SUV class.

2022 Nissan Rogue

7/10

The 2022 Jeep Wrangler offered a choice between a classic two-door or a more practical four-door body style, catering to different preferences. Buyers could select from a variety of powertrains, including a turbocharged four-cylinder, a gasoline-powered V6, a turbodiesel V6, a gas V8, or the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid. The standard six-speed manual transmission could be upgraded to an eight-speed automatic, and four-wheel drive was a standard feature with multiple systems available depending on the trim level. The Wrangler came in four core trims: Sport, Sport S, Sahara, and Rubicon, with numerous special editions like the Willys and Willys Sport, Sahara High Altitude, and Wrangler Rubicon 392. The High Tide model, based on the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport S trim, was a special edition in the US market, featuring options like LED exterior lighting, a body-colour hardtop with a Sunrider Fliptop, and a Gorilla Glass windshield upgrade.

The 2022 Nissan Rogue continued its evolution with a mature design, sharing exterior features with other Nissan models like the Pathfinder. It sported a V-motion grille, multi-level LED headlights, and a floating roof design. Inside, the Rogue featured a layered dash with contrasting colours and surfaces, an electronic gear selector lever, and ample storage options. The centre console was spacious, with cupholders, a wireless charging pad, and a large storage cubby. The Rogue's 9-inch infotainment display was positioned for easy visibility, and the instrument panel varied from a 7-inch display to a 12.3-inch digital screen in upper trims. The Zero Gravity front seats provided comfort, and the second row offered good legroom and space for passengers. The Rogue's fit and finish were exemplary, especially in the top-of-the-line Platinum model.

It had an eight-speed automatic transmission and the optional Selec-Trac full-time 4WD system, ideal for challenging weather conditions. Fuel consumption was estimated at 11.2 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, but real-world testing showed an average of 14.0 L/100 km over 700 kilometres. The Rogue's performance was lively and efficient, making it a practical choice for everyday driving.

Rear-seat passengers faced entry and exit difficulties but enjoyed good accommodations once inside. Storage options were limited, with netting on door panels and small compartments. The Wrangler Unlimited offered 898 litres of cargo space, expandable to 2,050 litres with the rear seat folded.
