2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Reviews Summary

The 2024 Land Cruiser is an all-new model. Its coming was presaged by the Lexus GX with which it shares a platform, but Toyota made sure that this midsize SUV falls squarely in its own segment.

Verdict: The new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser is the latest in a spate of automotive reboots, and it just may be the best of them. The new Land Cruiser combines retro styling and excellent off-road capability with the latest in comfort and convenience and, of course, brand heritage. But Toyota may be relying too heavily on the revered nameplate to justify the price, particularly since it’s changed some of the fundamental characteristics of the model.

2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Reviews Summary

More than twenty years ago, Hyundai gave us its first SUV. Called the Santa Fe, the popular crossover has gone through four generations, all leading up to the design departure that makes this latest model the boldest-looking version yet.

Even if you’re not sold on the exterior design, the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe has plenty to recommend it. Its longer wheelbase means the mid-size crossover has more interior space, and Hyundai has added myriad features that just make sense in a family vehicle of this size. Some rivals might offer more cargo space, but those who are looking for stand-out styling on the road should take a serious look at this blocky crossover.

Verdict: The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe is a mid-size crossover that fashionable families will love. Though, those with more traditional tastes might find it all a bit too much.

2024 Toyota Land Cruiser

9/10

2025 Hyundai Santa Fe

7/10

The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser presented a classic yet modern aesthetic, with its boxy design and flat roof reminiscent of its iconic predecessors. The heritage grille, round headlights on the First Edition, and rectangular lights on other trims paid homage to earlier models, while all lighting was updated to LED for a contemporary touch. The vehicle's design was further enhanced by colour-selectable fog lights on higher trims, and the lowered beltline improved driver visibility. Inside, the Land Cruiser offered a blend of comfort and functionality, with cloth seats in the base trim and SofTex or real leather in higher trims. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel were standard, with additional features like a moonroof and ventilated seats available in higher trims. The cabin's design echoed Toyota's truck lineup, emphasizing comfort with cushy seats and padded surfaces.

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe maintained its fifth-generation design, characterized by a chunky, boxy appearance with a long wheelbase and flat hood. The pixelated H-shaped LED headlamps and taillights aligned with Hyundai's design language, though the rear lights' placement was critiqued for visual imbalance. The Santa Fe offered a range of vibrant colours, breaking away from the typical greyscale SUV palette. Each trim featured distinct wheels, with the off-road-focused XRT trim adding chrome and black accents. Inside, the Santa Fe accommodated up to seven passengers, with the Ultimate Calligraphy trim offering captain's chairs in the second row. Upholstery options ranged from leatherette to Nappa leather, and while the interior fit and finish were generally good, some squeaks and rattles were noted. The inclusion of physical dials for HVAC controls was appreciated, though the fan speed buttons were less intuitive.

While the Santa Fe handled graded dirt roads well, it wasn't designed for rugged rock crawling.
