How much does the 2017 Kia Sorento cost?

Is the 2017 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise the smooth ride, stylish interior, comfort, and available power, especially with the V6. That lines up well with the Sorento’s role as a well-rounded midsize SUV with a more polished cabin, useful passenger space, and family-friendly features such as available smartphone integration and advanced safety tech. With 22.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that many people have found dependable and easy to live with over time, especially when equipped with the smoother, stronger powertrains. At the same time, some owners mentioned occasional engine issues, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters if you want to reduce long-term ownership risk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Kia Sorento?

It looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can afford to be selective without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 22.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 267 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.99% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,497 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $12,497 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,054 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Sorento more attractive to you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it also means there may be less upside if prices stay near the current level. Even so, a well-kept example with the right equipment and a strong service history should still appeal to shoppers looking for a practical midsize SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 22.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Sorento is a smart pick if you want a more polished midsize SUV with strong owner approval, useful features, and a price that has come down meaningfully. If you are especially price-sensitive, it is also worth comparing nearby model years to see whether a similar Sorento offers a better deal or a better-equipped trim for the money.
