Used 2017 Kia Sorento for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2017 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 13.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 256 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.6/5, which is a strong sign that it delivers on the basics shoppers care about. The owner feedback points to a smooth ride, a stylish interior, and good comfort, with the V6 especially appreciated for its power. It also fits well if you want a well-rounded midsize SUV with more passenger space, a more polished cabin, and useful family-friendly features. With 27.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still enough market activity to help you shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also leans toward dependable day-to-day use, with many drivers describing the Sorento as comfortable and trouble-free enough to live with over time. That said, some owners mentioned occasional engine issues, so you should still pay close attention to service records and how the vehicle has been maintained. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure any past mechanical concerns were addressed before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 256 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.51% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,605 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $12,828 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,832 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sorento has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you are buying now and planning to sell later. If prices stay near this level, future resale losses may be more gradual than they were in the first few years after new. Strong demand for a practical midsize SUV with a good feature set can also help support values, especially for well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Sorento is the better pick if you want a more refined used midsize SUV with strong owner satisfaction and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth a look, but the 2017 remains the more balanced choice for shoppers who value comfort, space, and a polished feel.
