This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.

If you find a listing below $13,713 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $13,713 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,623 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sorento has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than they would have a year ago. If you buy at the current average, your resale outlook will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Strong value positioning can help, but you should still expect pricing pressure if the market stays competitive.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a well-rounded midsize SUV with strong value, the 2018 is the better starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and a decent share of deal-priced listings. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a slightly older or newer Sorento gives you a better mix of equipment and asking price.
