If you want a practical, spacious vehicle with all-weather capability and a comfortable cabin, this model fits that brief well. Is the 2019 Subaru Outback reliable?

The user feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers highlighting its smooth ride and confidence in tough weather. For long-term ownership, a well-maintained example should be the safer bet.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Subaru Outback?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully before committing.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 249 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.20% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,136 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Subaru Outback's resale value?

The current average of $20,398 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,971 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Outback easier to buy now but may also limit near-term upside for a future seller. If you purchase at today's average, you may not see strong appreciation in the short run. Still, the model's broad appeal and loyal following help support demand when it's time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.96/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Subaru Outback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.96/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $23,384 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $20,398 CAD average.
• It adds a larger touchscreen and updated sixth-generation tech.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better value if you want a well-liked, roomy Outback at a softer price. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer-generation updates, the 2020 is the stronger upgrade path; otherwise, the 2019 remains the smarter buy for price-sensitive shoppers.
