How much does the 2018 Subaru Outback cost?

Prices have softened 12.35% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 205 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice when comparing condition, mileage, and equipment.

Is the 2018 Subaru Outback a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.67/5, which is a strong sign that it delivers on what used buyers want. The owner feedback points to a smooth ride, strong safety features, and ample cargo space, all of which fit the Outback’s practical, roomy, family-friendly role. It also suits you well if you want a wagon-turned-crossover with all-weather capability and a comfortable daily-driving feel. With 33.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Subaru Outback reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with praise centred on the vehicle’s durability, safety, and everyday usefulness. That said, used buyers should still budget for the possibility of higher long-term maintenance costs than some rivals, especially if the vehicle has not been serviced consistently.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru Outback?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options and enough deal activity to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 205 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.35% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,601 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru Outback's resale value?

The current average of $16,955 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,344 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the vehicle is especially well kept. If you buy now, you may benefit from the softer pricing, but resale gains are likely to depend heavily on condition, service history, and how well the vehicle is equipped. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru Outback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want a well-liked, practical Outback with strong owner approval and a softer price than it had a year ago. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 remains a sensible primary target when you want a balance of value, space, and all-weather usefulness.
