How much does the 2019 Subaru Outback cost?

There are 218 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2019 Subaru Outback a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Subaru Outback earns a 4.96/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, roomy interior, and ample safety features, and many also appreciate its power and fuel economy in challenging climates. It fits especially well if you want a practical, spacious vehicle with all-weather capability and everyday usefulness. With 29.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price.

Is the 2019 Subaru Outback reliable?

Owners rate it 4.96/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, especially those who value the Outback’s long-term usefulness in harsh weather. That said, some owners mention oil maintenance between changes, so used buyers should pay close attention to service history and maintenance records to reduce long-term ownership risk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Subaru Outback?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re comparing listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 218 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.99% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,131 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Subaru Outback's resale value?

The current average of $20,366 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,140 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Outback easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you purchase at today’s average, your resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Because the model has strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal, it should remain reasonably marketable when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.96/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Subaru Outback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.96/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $23,243 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $20,366 CAD average.
• It brings a more modern cabin with a giant new tablet interface.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and a well-liked, well-equipped Outback with strong owner approval. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2019 is the smarter path; if you want the newer interior experience and can stretch your budget, the 2020 is worth a look.
