Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.85/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction.

You’ll see recurring praise for its value, safety features, comfort, spacious interior, and ride quality. That fits the 2019 Santa Fe well if you want a practical family SUV with a polished cabin and everyday usability rather than a vehicle focused on driving excitement.

Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.85/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find reliable, dependable, and comfortable to live with over time. At the same time, some drivers mention occasional reliability concerns, particularly with the battery, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but you should still prioritise service records and a thorough mechanical check.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

If you find a listing below $18,041 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $18,080 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,861 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and maintenance history than to broad market momentum alone.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,485 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,080 CAD average.
• It adds a standard rear-seat reminder and available Blind-Spot View Monitor.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and a well-liked ownership experience. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2019 is the smarter starting point; if you want the newer-year updates and are willing to pay more, the 2020 is worth a look.
