Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Owners consistently praise its value, safety features, comfort, spacious interior, and ride quality. That lines up well with its role as a practical, well-equipped used SUV for everyday use, especially if you want a tidy two-row layout with useful technology and a polished cabin.

With 29.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully and find a competitive example.

Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with comfort and value standing out as recurring strengths. Some drivers do mention road noise and occasional reliability concerns, particularly regarding the battery.

For used buyers, that means you should still inspect maintenance history and condition closely, but the overall ownership picture suggests manageable long-term risk if the vehicle has been cared for properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 391 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.35% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,905 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $17,905 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,664 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited unless the market tightens. If you plan to sell later, a lower entry price can reduce depreciation pressure, especially if you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,074 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $17,905 CAD average.
• It adds a standard rear-seat reminder and an available camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better value if you want a well-liked, well-equipped Santa Fe at a lower price. If you can stretch for the 2020, you get a newer model with a few useful safety and convenience updates, but price-sensitive buyers should feel comfortable focusing on the 2019.
