This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 410 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.98% compared with last year.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $18,013 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,699 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher. The Santa Fe’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, especially among shoppers looking for a practical family SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,183 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,013 CAD average.
• It adds a standard rear-seat reminder and available Blind-Spot View Monitor.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2019 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction. If you are willing to spend more for newer safety tech and a slightly updated package, the 2020 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritise those upgrades.
