How much does the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 14.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 387 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 4.85/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers repeatedly praise its excellent value, numerous tech features, and comfortable ride, while also highlighting the spacious interior and advanced safety features. It fits especially well if you want a practical family SUV with three-row flexibility, useful space, and a well-equipped cabin without feeling overly complicated. With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.85/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers describing it as a strong value and appreciating how well it serves everyday family use. That said, some owners mention the base engine can feel lacking and the turbo engine can be a bit noisy, so used buyers should pay attention to how the vehicle drives and whether maintenance has been kept up over time. For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about outright reliability and more about choosing a well-maintained example that matches your expectations for power and refinement.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 387 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.04% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,007 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $26,092 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,355 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Santa Fe easier to buy now but may also mean future sellers face more competition. If you own one for a few years, the current pricing trend implies you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim. Strong demand for well-equipped family SUVs should help, but the softer market means you may not see the same pricing strength that was present a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $29,960 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $26,092 CAD average.
• It carries over nearly unchanged with minor equipment shuffling and a small horsepower increase.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the better value and more room to negotiate. If you are price-sensitive, the 2022 is the smarter buy; if you want a newer model year and do not mind paying more, the 2023 is the alternative to consider.
