Is the 2018 Mazda CX-9 a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Mazda CX-9 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its blend of comfort, luxury, and practicality, along with its spacious interior and smooth ride. It also stands out as a family SUV for you if you want a more engaging drive and a more upscale cabin than many rivals. Is the 2018 Mazda CX-9 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free for many shoppers, especially when you value a comfortable, well-rounded family SUV. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and how the vehicle has aged over time, since long-term ownership risk always depends on prior care.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Mazda CX-9?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 86 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.30% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,775 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Mazda CX-9's resale value?

The current average of $19,929 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,732 CAD.

That price movement suggests the CX-9 has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The model's premium feel and strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, but resale will still depend on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mazda CX-9 or consider a different year?
