Is the 2018 Mazda CX-9 a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Mazda CX-9 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its blend of comfort, luxury, and practicality, along with its spacious interior and fun performance. That makes it a strong fit if you want a three-row SUV with a more premium feel and a more engaging drive than many family-focused rivals. The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free for many shoppers, with long-term ownership appeal supported by strong satisfaction. For used buyers, that means the bigger risk is choosing a poorly maintained example rather than worrying about a broad reliability pattern.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Mazda CX-9?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully before moving quickly.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 82 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.93% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,771 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Mazda CX-9's resale value?

The current average of $19,285 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,899 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point. If you plan to sell later, the softer current pricing means your future resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Well-kept examples should still attract interest because the CX-9 has a strong reputation with owners and a distinctive premium feel.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mazda CX-9 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Mazda CX-9 is a smart pick if you want a three-row SUV with a premium cabin, strong owner approval, and a more engaging driving feel. If you are price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the best-maintained, best-priced example rather than chasing a specific year alone.
