Yes — the 2016 Kia Sorento earns a 4.64/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Drivers consistently praise its reliability, performance, smooth ride, handling, and good fuel efficiency. The review summary also highlights the range of features it offers, which fits well if you want a midsize SUV with more space and a more mature overall package. If you need family flexibility, the Sorento’s larger cabin and usable third row make it a practical choice, even if that extra row is still best for smaller passengers.

Is the 2016 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary specifically points to reliability, and it also describes the Sorento as dependable enough that many drivers feel good about its day-to-day ownership experience. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for regular commuting, family duty, and longer-term use.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the overall reputation and more about finding a well-maintained example, since condition and service history will matter a lot over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 18.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 239 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,266 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $11,266 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,871 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sorento has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than they would have a year ago. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation pressure later. The model’s broad appeal as a practical midsize SUV should help support demand, especially among shoppers looking for space and features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 18.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used Sorento with a strong mix of space, features, and owner approval, the 2016 is a solid primary target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a similar example offers a better deal, but the 2016 stands out as a sensible choice when you find one in good condition and priced near the lower end of the range.
