The 2022 Lincoln Nautilus was an attractive SUV, boasting a balanced design that avoided any awkwardness while maintaining a distinctive character. Lincoln's attention to detail was evident, ensuring the Nautilus stood out with its unique styling. Upon approaching the SUV at night, the Lincoln Embrace lighting sequence provided a welcoming touch. The interior of our test vehicle featured light grey premium leather upholstery, with other colour options like sandstone, dark brown, and black available. Despite its overall decadence, some elements like the centre console design and chrome-plated plastic pieces appeared somewhat cheap.

In contrast, the 2023 Genesis GV70 drew styling inspiration from the G70 compact luxury sedan, particularly above the belt-line. Its design elements, such as the split-bar headlights and a strong chrome line, connected it visually to its sedan counterpart, creating a coupe-like SUV appearance without sacrificing versatility. Inside, the GV70's cabin was a testament to luxury, with top-notch materials and excellent fit and finish. The interior design was both contemporary and classic, featuring climate controls integrated into a curving bezel and a touchscreen that rose organically from the dash. The GV70's dash included a full touchscreen backed by a rotary dial and button controls, offering a user-friendly experience.

The 2022 Lincoln Nautilus came standard with a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, delivering 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. It featured an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (AWD) in Canada. For an additional $4,000, a twin-turbocharged 2.7-litre V6 engine was available, producing 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. The Nautilus offered Comfort, Normal, and Sport driving modes, adjusting powertrain behaviour, steering effort, and adaptive suspension. The V6 engine, paired with the adaptive suspension, provided a comfortable and cozy driving experience, especially during long trips. The Nautilus averaged 9.4 L/100 km over 1,400 kilometres, with a maximum highway range of 730 kilometres.

The 2023 Genesis GV70 2.5T was equipped with a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, generating 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. The 3.5T variant featured a twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 engine, producing 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. Both engines were paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and AWD. The GV70 offered a refined and well-rounded driving experience, blending comfort and sharp handling. The Electrified GV70, with its 77.4-kWh battery pack and dual electric motors, delivered 429 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, with a Boost Mode increasing output to 483 horsepower. It had a range of 383 kilometres and could fast charge from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes.

The 2022 Lincoln Nautilus featured a luxurious interior with smooth leather, ambient lighting, and a quiet drive thanks to Active Noise Control. The front seats were heated and ventilated, with an optional 22-way power adjustment offering exceptional comfort. However, the rear seating was cramped for a midsize SUV, with limited legroom. The Nautilus provided 1,055 litres of cargo space behind the rear seat and a maximum of 1,948 litres with the seats folded. Storage space was adequate but not easily accessible.

The 2023 Genesis GV70 offered 1,611 litres of cargo space with the rear seats folded and 818 litres with the seats in use, above average for its class. It featured a hands-free power liftgate and practical storage solutions, including large cupholders and a centre console tray. While the front seats were comfortable, the rear seats had tighter legroom, requiring front-row occupants to adjust their seats for rear passenger comfort. The rear bench reclined for added comfort.

The 2022 Lincoln Nautilus was equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation display and a 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system running Sync 4 software. It offered over-the-air updates, Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 19-speaker Revel audio system. The system featured an intuitive user interface and physical stereo and climate controls. The Phone as a Key feature allowed smartphones to unlock and start the vehicle.

The 2023 Genesis GV70 featured a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. It included a rotary dial and helpful buttons for easy navigation. The GV70 came with four USB ports, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a nine-speaker stereo system.
