2022 Ford Expedition Reviews Summary

Certain cars garner a surprising amount of attention. While driving a 2022 Ford Expedition Limited in Stone Blue Metallic with one of the Stealth Edition option packages, we received numerous compliments on this SUV, and it was all related to the paint colour and the wheels. Fortunately for Ford, the 2022 Expedition’s beauty is more than skin deep. This is a terrific full-size SUV in all ways but one.

2022 Nissan Rogue Reviews Summary

The 2022 Nissan Rogue is a two-row crossover compact SUV with frameless, unibody construction, riding on a platform that was all-new for 2021 and shared with the next-generation Mitsubishi Outlander. It comes with front-wheel drive (FWD) or available all-wheel drive (AWD) and in five trim levels. In Canada, FWD prices start at $29,148 before the $1,860 destination fees and AWD at $31,448, equating to a $650 increase for both models compared to the 2021 model year. All-wheel drive costs $2,300 on lower trim levels and is standard on higher trims. And those prices include a new, more powerful engine and a new transmission. At a fuel consumption as low as 7.2 litres per 100 kilometres combined, the 2022 Rogue is the current leader in its non-hybrid compact crossover SUV class.

2022 Nissan Rogue

7/10

The 2022 Ford Expedition underwent significant updates, featuring exterior styling revisions and enhanced infotainment technology. The front of the vehicle showcased a new grille, headlights, and bumper, while the rear was updated with revised taillights, tailgate trim, and a new bumper. Redesigned wheels were introduced across the model lineup. In Canada, the Expedition came standard with a four-wheel drive drivetrain and was available in XLT, Limited, and Platinum trims, with prices ranging from just under $70,000 to over $95,000, excluding the destination charge. The new Timberline trim catered to off-road enthusiasts with all-terrain tires and off-roading tech. Inside, the Expedition boasted a redesigned dashboard with the new Sync 4 and Sync 4A infotainment systems, offering a 15.5-inch touchscreen display in the latter. The Limited Stealth Edition featured leather seats and a 12.4-inch digital instrumentation display, with a price tag of $92,894 for the standard-length version.

The 2022 Nissan Rogue continued its evolution with a mature design, maintaining the styling changes from the previous year. It shared several exterior design features with other Nissan vehicles, including the V-motion grille and multi-level LED headlights. The SL and Platinum trims included LED fog lamps, while active grille shutters and underbody covers improved airflow. The floating roof design and slightly bulging liftgate added to its sleek appearance. Inside, the Rogue featured a layered dash with contrasting colours and surfaces, a centre console with an electronic gear selector, and a 9-inch infotainment display. The Zero Gravity front seats provided comfort, and the second row offered ample legroom. The Rogue's fit and finish were exemplary, especially in the top-of-the-line Platinum model.

The engine was paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, offering a towing capacity of up to 4,173 kg (9,200 lb) when properly equipped. Fuel economy ranged from 12.9 to 13.9 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, with an observed fuel economy of 14.5 L/100 km during testing. The Expedition's driving dynamics were enhanced by the Stealth Edition Package's sport-tuned suspension, although the 22-inch wheels contributed to a sometimes harsh ride quality. Despite its size, the Expedition was easy to park, thanks to excellent outward visibility and features like front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system. On the highway, the Expedition excelled, providing a quiet and comfortable ride for long road trips.

The 2022 Nissan Rogue received a performance boost with its new 1.5-litre VC-Turbo engine, producing 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque. This represented an 11 percent increase in horsepower and a 24 percent increase in torque compared to the previous model. The Rogue's fuel consumption was impressive, with estimates of 7.8 litres per 100 kilometres city/6.5 highway/7.2 combined. The new engine was paired with a CVT, offering wider gear ratios for improved acceleration and responsiveness.
