What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Denali Ultimate is the top trim and brings nearly every available option, plus a massive cabin with luxury trimmings. It also gets standard LED headlights and taillights, sequential turn signals, the MultiPro Tailgate, and a six-passenger Crew Cab layout, while lesser trims do not get this full luxury treatment.
• Powertrain: The Denali Ultimate uses a 6.6-litre Duramax turbocharged diesel V8 with 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission and standard 4WD. • Safety package: The Sierra HD comes standard with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and lane departure warning. On the Denali Ultimate, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view parking camera, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and a rear-facing cargo bed camera are standard as well.

• AT4: Choose this if you want the off-road-oriented character and standard 4WD from this point in the lineup.
• Denali: This is the trim for buyers who want a more premium cabin and a stronger luxury focus.

• Inventory: There are 212 listings available.

What is the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $77,722 CAD sits slightly below last year's $83,313 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more carefully now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, trim, and how well the truck has been maintained. Higher-spec versions with strong equipment and broad buyer appeal should remain easier to move than more basic examples.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD or consider a different year?

• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date version of this heavy-duty truck with the newest top trim and a softer used-market price, the 2024 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2024 gives you the freshest mix of luxury, capability, and market value.
