Is the 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD. In Canada, it stands out as a heavy-duty pickup that leans more upscale than many rivals, with broad cab and bed choices that help it suit both work and personal use. Higher-end trims add luxury-oriented cabin features, while the AT4 models bring off-road hardware for buyers who want more capability beyond the pavement. 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Sierra 2500HD is described as a capable heavy-duty truck with a premium-leaning cabin and a wide spread of equipment, but used buyers should still inspect carefully for reported issues such as check engine lights, infotainment sluggishness, rough or delayed shifts, electrical glitches, MultiPro tailgate faults, and faulty trailer brake controllers. For long-term ownership, that means condition and service history matter a lot, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find worthwhile options.

If you find a listing below $88,182 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $88,182 CAD sits slightly below last year's $100,276 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the truck holds its condition and equipment appeal. Because the Sierra 2500HD sits in a premium-heavy-duty niche, well-kept examples with desirable trims and strong service records should remain easier to market than rougher trucks. If you buy at the right price today, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $77,798 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $88,182 CAD average.
• It adds the Denali Ultimate trim and emphasises luxury with serious towing capability.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the current-year market with a decent share of deal-priced listings and strong owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2024 is the better value path, especially if you want a premium-feeling heavy-duty truck without paying the current-year average.
