Used 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD for Sale nearBarrie, ON

How much does the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 6.93% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 201 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD a good car?

Generally — with a 4.2/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating, the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD looks like a strong fit if you want heavy-duty capability wrapped in a more upscale package. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its capability, impressive features, professional-grade character, and the value it offers. The trade-offs are a thirst for fuel and some concerns around limited colour choices and gas-engine reliability over time.

That makes the Sierra 2500HD especially appealing if you need serious towing and payload ability, plus a cabin that feels more premium than a basic work truck. With 30.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.2/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in day-to-day use, with buyers appreciating its professional-grade character and the sense that it can be counted on for demanding work. The expert evaluation also highlights a refined powertrain and a transmission that stays in the right gear, which supports confidence in how the truck behaves under load.

The cost-effectiveness assessment also notes that the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that heavy-duty capability and diesel complexity can make repairs and upkeep more expensive if the truck has been worked hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Denali Ultimate is the top trim and adds nearly every available option, while the standard lineup includes Pro, SLE, SLT, AT4, Denali, AT4X, and Denali Ultimate. The base trims are more work-focused, while the upper trims bring the luxury touches and convenience features that make this truck feel more premium.
• Powertrain: You get a 6.6-litre Duramax turbocharged diesel V8 with 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission and standard 4WD. It is built for strong acceleration and serious towing, but it also brings the fuel-use trade-off that comes with a heavy-duty diesel.
• Safety package: The truck comes standard with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and lane departure warning. On the Denali Ultimate, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view parking camera, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and a rear-facing cargo bed camera are standard as well.
• Infotainment: The Denali Ultimate uses a 13.4-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google built-in, wireless device charging, a 15-inch head-up display, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system. Lesser Sierra HD models make do with an 8.0-inch touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: During long highway stints, the Duramax diesel dipped as low as 11.2 L/100 km, while suburban and city driving routinely climbed well beyond 20 L/100 km.

Which 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD trim should I buy?

The 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD is offered in 7 trim levels: Pro, SLE, SLT, AT4, Denali, AT4X, and Denali Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Pro: This is the most work-focused starting point, so it makes sense if you want the Sierra HD’s core capability without paying for luxury extras.
• SLE: Choose this if you want a step up from the entry trim while still keeping the truck relatively straightforward and value-oriented.
• SLT: This is the better pick if you want a more polished daily-driving experience without jumping all the way to the luxury end of the range.
• AT4: Go here if you want the off-road-oriented trim with a tougher personality and the standard 4WD setup that comes from AT4 upward.
• Denali: This is the trim to target if you want the upscale Sierra HD feel without stretching to the top of the range.
• AT4X: Pick this if you want the upgraded off-road trim and the more rugged hardware that comes with it.
• Denali Ultimate: This is the best-value choice if you want the most complete version of the truck, with nearly every available option, the strongest luxury presentation, and the most comprehensive tech and safety equipment.

The Denali Ultimate is the only trim with the six-passenger Crew Cab and it can be paired with either the standard bed or long bed. From AT4 upward, 4WD is standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 201 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.93% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $76,712 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $77,364 CAD sits slightly below last year's $83,126 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled from where it was a year ago, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later.

For a future seller, the key is to remember that heavy-duty trucks can hold interest when they are well equipped and properly maintained, but the market still responds to price discipline. A truck that is priced too close to its original premium can sit longer, especially when shoppers have multiple listings to compare.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD safe?

The 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes standard with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and lane departure warning. On the Denali Ultimate, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view parking camera, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and a rear-facing cargo bed camera are standard as well.

That means you should pay close attention to trim level if safety tech matters to you, because the most complete driver-assistance package is reserved for the Denali Ultimate. The extra-large power-operated side mirrors also help visibility, especially when you are towing or manoeuvring a wide truck.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The Denali Ultimate is newly added for this model year and brings nearly every available option to the Sierra HD lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of luxury, capability, and up-to-date equipment in this heavy-duty truck, the 2024 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, you may still find better value by shopping carefully within this year’s used listings and focusing on lower trims or well-priced examples.
