CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Lexus RX
Summary
With 105 currently listed for sale and an average price of $33,854 CAD, 36.2% of 2019 Lexus RX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Lexus RX 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Lexus RX stands out as a luxury SUV that puts comfort and refinement ahead of flashier ambitions. Lexus has long leaned into those strengths, and the RX’s reputation for reliability and strong resale value helps explain why it remains such a popular used choice. It is also positioned as a more affordable alternative to European rivals, which adds to its appeal for buyers who want a premium badge without paying quite as much at the outset.
For 2019, the RX sits within the fourth generation, which brought a sharper design, more passenger space, and a more traditional dashboard layout than before. Standard all-wheel drive in Canada is part of its appeal, and the RX also benefits from a broad safety package that became standard in 2017. By this point in the generation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were standard equipment, and the RX 350 carried an estimated combined fuel consumption of 10.8 L/100 km, while the RX 450h was rated at 7.9 L/100 km combined.
There are trade-offs, though. The RX is not especially sporty, and its handling remains tuned more for comfort than for performance. It is also not the best choice if towing strength or off-road ability are priorities. Even so, for buyers who value a quiet, comfortable, and dependable luxury SUV, the 2019 Lexus RX makes a strong case for itself.

How much does the 2019 Lexus RX cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $33,998 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $33,840 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $38,992 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $37,465 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −9.25% |
Prices have softened 9.25% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 104 listings available, which suggests a reasonable amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.
Is the 2019 Lexus RX a good car?
Yes — the 2019 Lexus RX earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its comfort, luxurious features, and smooth ride, and many also value the all-wheel drive and the reliability it delivers. It fits especially well if you want a quiet, refined luxury SUV that prioritises everyday comfort over flashier performance. With 30.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully.
Is the 2019 Lexus RX reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback highlights reliability, dependability, and the confidence that comes with a vehicle many owners feel they can count on. That reputation lines up with the RX’s broader appeal as a comfortable, trouble-free luxury SUV for long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is less about outright reliability and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained properly over time.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Lexus RX?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards patience and comparison shopping.
- Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 104 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.25% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $33,840 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Lexus RX's resale value?
The current average of $33,998 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,465 CAD.
That softer pricing can work in your favour if you're buying now, but it also means a future sale may start from a lower base than it would have a year ago. Even so, the RX's strong reputation for comfort and reliability helps support demand in the used market. If you keep the vehicle in good condition and maintain it properly, it should remain appealing to shoppers looking for a refined luxury SUV.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Lexus RX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.25% compared with last year.
