Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mazda CX-9?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 50 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.47% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,072 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mazda CX-9's resale value?

The current average of $16,072 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,791 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make resale expectations a bit more conservative for future sellers. If you buy now, you may be entering at a more favourable point than someone who purchased when prices were higher. The CX-9’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, but resale value will still depend on condition, mileage, and maintenance history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mazda CX-9 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used CX-9 with strong owner approval, a lower average price than last year, and some deal availability, the 2016 is a sensible place to start. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years as well, but the 2016 stands out as a balanced choice for shoppers who value satisfaction and market softness.
