Is the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 4.73/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its strong performance, comfort, and luxurious features, and many also value the spacious interior, impressive technology, and off-road capability. That lines up well with the Grand Cherokee’s role as an SUV that blends genuine off-road ability with a more premium feel than many mainstream SUVs. With 30.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you may find some attractive options if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable in day-to-day use, especially when it comes to comfort, performance, and the ability to count on its mix of capability and refinement. The same feedback also suggests that long-term ownership can come with trade-offs, particularly around fuel economy and pricing on certain trims. For used buyers, that means the biggest risk is less about whether the Grand Cherokee is appealing and more about whether the specific example has been maintained well enough to keep ownership costs in check.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 320 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.63% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,569 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $20,627 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,161 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Grand Cherokee more approachable for you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and trim than it would be in a rising market. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong shape, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation pressure later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the Grand Cherokee’s mix of comfort, technology, and real off-road ability, especially now that pricing has eased and there are still plenty of listings to compare. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may also be worth a look, but the 2018 stands out as a balanced choice when you want capability without giving up a more premium feel.
