Owners consistently praise its comfortable ride, spacious interior, and luxury features, and many also value its performance, safety, and towing capability. Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 215 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.23% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,333 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $17,338 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,204 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The current spread between the year-round low and high also shows that condition, trim, and equipment can still make a meaningful difference in what your vehicle is worth.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a smart choice if you want a used Grand Cherokee with strong owner approval, a softer price than last year, and enough inventory to compare options. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a lower entry price outweighs the 2017’s stronger market position and owner satisfaction.
