For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that condition and maintenance history will matter a lot, so you should shop carefully and favour well-kept examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 175 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 26.03% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,845 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $14,845 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,069 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make this model easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned to protect value later. The current pricing also means future sellers will likely need to compete on condition, mileage, and equipment to stand out.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 26.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want a well-liked Grand Cherokee with strong owner approval and a softer price than it had a year ago. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2016 is a sensible primary target when you want a balance of value, comfort, and capability.
