Is the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. That lines up well if you want an SUV that can handle rough conditions without giving up everyday comfort. The user feedback points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centred on comfort, performance, and the ability to count on its capability when needed. The overall ownership picture suggests solid long-term appeal, even if fuel economy and pricing can be sticking points for some shoppers. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that you should shop carefully and prioritise well-maintained examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 308 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.52% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,480 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $20,480 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,957 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently today but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you’re thinking about future value, the current trend implies a more stable, value-oriented ownership proposition than a strong appreciation story. Well-priced examples should remain easier to move than overpriced ones, especially if they’re clean and well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the better pick if you want the updated infotainment and a strong mix of comfort, capability, and owner satisfaction at a more approachable price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 stands out as the more balanced choice for most shoppers.
