Is the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 4.77/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. That lines up well if you want an SUV that can handle rough conditions without giving up everyday refinement. With 28.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, especially when the vehicle has been maintained well over the long term. For used buyers, the main risk is that condition and maintenance history matter a lot, so a careful inspection is important before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be patient and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 239 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.53% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,999 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $18,005 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,833 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the vehicle more attractive to buyers today but less favourable for sellers trying to maximise return. If you plan to resell later, the current pricing trend means your future value will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and maintenance records. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong choice if you want a Grand Cherokee with broad appeal, solid owner satisfaction, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 remains the better all-around pick when you want a balance of comfort, capability, and value.
