Is the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

Generally — the 4.4/5 user rating points to a well-liked SUV. Owners most often praise its comfort, spaciousness, and features, with many also noting smooth performance and good gas mileage. That lines up well with its family-focused role as a roomy three-row SUV that prioritises everyday usability and capability. The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable for family use, with comfort and smooth operation coming through as recurring strengths. That said, some owners mention steering issues and tire wear, so those are worth checking carefully on any used example. For long-term ownership, a thorough inspection and maintenance review can help reduce the risk of surprise repair costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Pathfinder?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re comparing multiple listings.

• Deal availability: 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 202 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,369 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

The current average of $13,369 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,189 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Pathfinder easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you own one for a few years, resale performance will likely depend on condition, mileage, and maintenance history more than on market momentum alone. A well-kept example should still appeal to family buyers who want space and capability without paying new-SUV prices.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Pathfinder makes the most sense if you want a roomy, family-friendly three-row SUV with strong value and you’re comfortable shopping carefully for the right example. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 is the better pick when you want a balance of price, space, and owner satisfaction.
