Is the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.8/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. You get a mix of a comfortable ride, a spacious interior, and luxury features, along with performance, safety, and towing capability that many owners value. For you, that makes it a compelling choice if you want a used SUV that feels more premium than many mainstream rivals while still being versatile enough for everyday driving and tougher conditions. Is the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, especially when it comes to comfort, capability, and day-to-day usability. That said, some reviewers mention concerns about gas mileage and interior materials, so you should pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition when shopping used. For long-term ownership, the main risk is that a neglected example could be more expensive to live with than a well-kept one.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 228 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.70% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,797 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $17,797 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,365 CAD.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you are buying now but less favourable if you plan to sell soon. If prices stay near this level, future resale values may remain steady rather than rising sharply. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of value, comfort, and capability, the 2017 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2017’s stronger market position and owner satisfaction.
