Is the 2016 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Jeep Cherokee earns a 4.1/5 user rating, which points to solid owner satisfaction. User feedback also points to dependable day-to-day comfort and a vehicle that many owners felt they could count on for regular use. At the same time, some shoppers noted concerns around build quality and transmission reliability, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable, but you should pay close attention to service history and test-drive behaviour.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Jeep Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 26.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 334 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.58% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,791 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $11,791 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,305 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Cherokee has become more affordable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If the market stays soft, resale values could remain under pressure in the near term. On the other hand, a well-kept example with the right equipment and strong presentation should still attract interest from shoppers looking for a compact SUV with Jeep appeal.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.1/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Cherokee makes sense if you want a used compact SUV with a comfortable cabin, useful features, and a price that has come down meaningfully. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge.
