Is the 2016 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Jeep Cherokee earns a 4.1/5 user rating, which points to solid owner satisfaction. Drivers most often praise its sporty feel, comfortable interior, and the convenience of its size and features. For you, that makes it a sensible fit if you want a compact SUV with everyday usability and some Jeep character, especially if heated seats and a heated steering wheel matter to you. The market also shows 26.6% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.1/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to dependable day-to-day comfort and a vehicle that many owners felt good about living with over time. At the same time, some buyers raised concerns about build quality, especially around the engine and transmission, so you should pay close attention to service history and how the drivetrain behaves on a test drive. For used buyers, that means the long-term ownership risk is manageable, but only if you choose carefully and avoid examples with signs of neglected maintenance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Jeep Cherokee?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can find value if you compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 335 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.53% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,785 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $11,785 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,290 CAD.

That decline suggests the Cherokee has become more affordable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer pricing environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy now, the lower entry price can help protect your position, especially if you choose a well-kept example with strong service records. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.1/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a good choice if you want a used Cherokee with a lower average price and decent shopper satisfaction, especially if you value comfort and Jeep personality. If you're more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge alone.
