Is the 2016 Ford Escape a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Ford Escape earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its zippy performance, stylish design, and plenty of interior space. Many also say it handles well and offers great features for its age. With 24.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful share of the market to compare.

Is the 2016 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers feel good about living with over time, especially for its overall usability and day-to-day appeal. That said, a used example can still carry age-related wear, so you should pay close attention to maintenance history and any signs of practicality-related annoyances before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 24.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 418 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.05% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $9,338 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $9,338 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,395 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Escape more approachable for buyers today. For a future seller, that also means resale upside may be more limited unless the vehicle is especially well kept or priced competitively. If you buy at the right number and maintain it well, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 24.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Ford Escape makes sense if you want a used SUV with broad inventory, a lower average price, and strong owner approval. If your priority is stretching your budget, this year deserves a close look. If you want to compare value across nearby years, you can also consider a different model year when pricing or condition is more favourable.
