2022 Nissan Rogue Reviews Summary

The 2022 Nissan Rogue is a two-row crossover compact SUV with frameless, unibody construction, riding on a platform that was all-new for 2021 and shared with the next-generation Mitsubishi Outlander. It comes with front-wheel drive (FWD) or available all-wheel drive (AWD) and in five trim levels. In Canada, FWD prices start at $29,148 before the $1,860 destination fees and AWD at $31,448, equating to a $650 increase for both models compared to the 2021 model year. All-wheel drive costs $2,300 on lower trim levels and is standard on higher trims. And those prices include a new, more powerful engine and a new transmission. At a fuel consumption as low as 7.2 litres per 100 kilometres combined, the 2022 Rogue is the current leader in its non-hybrid compact crossover SUV class.

2023 Nissan Ariya Reviews Summary

By 2023, it should be clear that electric vehicles (EVs) are here to stay. Companies that got started early on EVs have a head start, and when considering the current era of electric mobility, no major automaker got out of the starting blocks faster than Nissan. The 2010 Nissan Leaf invited the masses to experience quiet, efficient motoring—but in the decade-plus since its debut, it has been caught by more impressive competition.

The all-new 2023 Nissan Ariya aims to retake market share in the electric vehicle space. With front- and all-wheel-drive powertrain options, slick design, immersive technology, and a competitive price tag, the Ariya looks capable of putting Nissan back into the EV conversation. We tested a single-motor Ariya in the fall of 2022 and have since evaluated the dual-motor e-4ORCE model for this updated review.

2023 Nissan Ariya

8/10

The 2022 Nissan Rogue continued to build on its established reputation as a top seller in the compact crossover segment. Its design, which had evolved over the years, showcased a mature and sophisticated look, with features like the V-motion grille and multi-level LED headlights. The floating roof and bulging liftgate added to its sleek appearance. Inside, the Rogue offered a layered dash design with contrasting colours and surfaces, creating a refined and detailed cabin. The centre console was a standout feature, with an electronic gear selector lever that freed up space, and a 9-inch infotainment display positioned for optimal driver visibility. The Zero Gravity front seats provided comfort, while the second row offered ample legroom for passengers.

In contrast, the 2023 Nissan Ariya embraced a modern and striking design, setting it apart from traditional gas-powered SUVs. Its smooth, oval shape and minimal creases gave it a unique appearance. The front featured thin LED headlights and an illuminated Nissan emblem, while the rear had a thin taillight spanning the width. Inside, the Ariya boasted beautiful craftsmanship with minimal hard plastics and a simplistic dashboard. Dual 12-inch monitors displayed information, and the illuminated haptic buttons added a modern touch. The absence of a transmission tunnel created an open and airy interior, enhancing the sense of space. The Ariya's design was both innovative and expressive, appealing to those seeking a futuristic electric vehicle.

The electric power-assisted steering offered good feedback, and the tight turning diameter made manoeuvring easy.
