Is the 2025 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2025 Volvo XC60 stands out as a premium compact crossover that blends clean Scandinavian design, standard safety technology, and fuel-efficient powertrains. Volvo’s long-running emphasis on safety is a major part of its appeal, and the XC60 has built a reputation around that strength.

It is also a five-passenger model, which keeps it practical without losing its upscale character. For shoppers who want a luxury SUV with a strong safety focus and efficient powertrain choices, that combination is a major part of the XC60’s appeal.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that premium features and complex powertrains can mean higher repair costs if maintenance has been neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 136 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,837 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $59,980 CAD sits slightly below last year's $61,289 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the XC60 is currently sitting in a more buyer-friendly part of the market. If you plan to sell later, you may not see the same strength in resale as a year ago unless demand tightens.

For now, the trend points to a used SUV that is still desirable, but not commanding peak pricing. That can help you buy more selectively today, while also reminding you to focus on condition and equipment if you want to protect future value.

Should I buy a 2025 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.14% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a larger touchscreen and updated infotainment.

The 2025 is the better primary pick if you want a softer market and more room to negotiate. If you are more focused on newer tech than on price, the 2026 is the stronger alternative.

How does the 2025 Volvo XC60 compare to the 2025 Audi Q5?

The XC60 costs more on average, but it also has a slightly higher share of good and great deals. The Q5 gives you far more listings to choose from and a lower average price, so it may suit you better if selection and budget matter most. If you want the Volvo’s safety-focused, understated character and are willing to pay a bit more, the XC60 remains a strong alternative.
