Is the 2018 Volvo XC60 a good car?

Yes — the 4.89/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the luxurious interior, smooth ride, and impressive safety features, and many also value the comfort and performance that make it a practical family choice. The XC60’s five-passenger layout and premium-crossover focus make it a strong fit if you want a well-equipped daily driver with an upscale feel. Is the 2018 Volvo XC60 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience for many drivers, especially those who value comfort, safety, and a trouble-free premium feel. At the same time, some owners have raised concerns about electronics and reliability on higher-mileage vehicles, so it pays to inspect service history closely. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that electronics-related issues may become more likely as mileage climbs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right example.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 64 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.46% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,061 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $21,268 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,768 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Well-kept examples are likely to hold up better than higher-mileage vehicles with unresolved electronics concerns.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a well-equipped luxury crossover with strong owner approval and a softer price than a year ago, the 2018 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2018’s stronger feature set and owner satisfaction.
