New & Used 2026 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearNorth Vancouver, BC

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 earns a 6.5/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

You’re looking at a compact luxury crossover that feels current thanks to the new Volvo Car UX infotainment system, which brings an 11.2-inch touchscreen, Google Gemini integration, and a more modern interface. The XC60 also leans into what you’d expect from Volvo: stylish design, premium interior materials, and comfortable seats.

The trade-offs are real, though. Our experts call out sluggish performance and poor fuel economy, and the driver-assistance tech is not a class leader. Even so, if you value a polished cabin and updated in-car technology more than outright pace or efficiency, the XC60 still makes sense.

With 35.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is presented as a familiar, well-developed compact luxury crossover with thoughtful updates rather than a full redesign. Its 48-volt mild-hybrid powertrain, standard all-wheel drive, and updated infotainment system suggest a mature package, and the complimentary four-year connected services plan is a nice ownership perk.

The performance notes point to a powertrain that is not especially quick to respond, with some delay in acceleration and uneven power delivery. That doesn’t automatically make it troublesome, but it does mean you should expect a more relaxed driving experience than a sporty one.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the XC60’s age and complexity may show up more in refinement and electronics than in outright mechanical drama.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XC60 B5 is offered in Core, Plus, and Ultra trim levels, with Black Edition also offered on the Ultra. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more, while the Ultra brings the most polished cabin experience with premium materials and upscale details.
• Powertrain: The B5 uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 247 horsepower, a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, and an eight-speed automatic. It’s smooth enough for everyday use, but it is not quick off the line and can feel delayed when you ask for more power.
• Safety package: Volvo’s Pilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane centring assist, and the XC60 also includes forward collision warning that can detect large animals, pedestrians, and cyclists, plus oncoming collision mitigation braking and intersection braking assist. The system is standard, but the review notes that its real-world performance is not especially impressive.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.2-inch touchscreen with Volvo Car UX, Google built-in, Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Gemini, and Google Play. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, but Apple CarPlay requires a wired connection.
• Fuel efficiency: The official combined fuel consumption is 9.0 L/100 km, and the review’s testing returned 9.5 L/100 km on one loop and 10.8 L/100 km on a mountainous route.

Which 2026 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is offered in 4 trim levels: Core, Plus, Ultra, and Black Edition.

Here’s the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point, but it’s the trim most likely to feel basic relative to the XC60’s upscale promise. If you want the Volvo look and the updated tech without stretching too far, it gets you into the lineup.
• Plus: This is the trim that makes the most sense for many shoppers because it should give you a better balance of equipment and price than the Core while staying below the more expensive Ultra.
• Ultra: This is the best-value trim if you want the XC60 at its most luxurious without chasing expensive extras. It’s the version that best showcases the premium interior materials, comfortable seats, and polished cabin character that define the SUV.
• Black Edition: Choose this if you want the Ultra’s equipment with a darker visual theme.

Volvo’s safety tech is standard, but the XC60 did not earn a Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 did not earn a Top Safety Pick or a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The reason is an Acceptable rather than a Good rating in the side-impact crash test.

It earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and five-star ratings in each individual crash test except for rollover resistance.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The XC60 includes Pilot Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane centring assist, along with forward collision warning, oncoming collision mitigation braking, intersection braking assist, and available integrated rear booster child seats. The caveat is that the driver-assistance tech is not especially polished in real-world use, and the review notes that it can struggle with lane tracking and traffic flow.
