Is the 2025 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2025 Volvo XC60 stands out as a five-passenger premium compact crossover that blends clean Scandinavian design with a strong emphasis on safety and standard equipment. For you, that means a refined small SUV with luxurious amenities and fuel-efficient powertrains, especially if you prefer understated styling over something flashy.

Its appeal is reinforced by Volvo’s positioning of the XC60 as its best-selling vehicle, along with its long-running reputation for safety. If you want a premium cabin, strong safety focus, and a polished character, this model fits that brief well.

22.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2025 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2025 Volvo XC60’s safety reputation is a major part of its appeal, and the model’s standard safety equipment remains a strength. It also uses fuel-efficient four-cylinder powertrains, including a plug-in hybrid in the lineup, which supports its practical premium positioning.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a premium crossover with this kind of equipment can become expensive to keep if you want to stay ahead of maintenance and repair costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 22.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 118 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,882 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $60,353 CAD sits slightly below last year's $62,317 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the XC60 is currently in a more buyer-friendly phase than it was a year ago. If you plan to sell later, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment because the market is already pricing in some depreciation. For you as a future seller, that means a well-kept example with desirable features should matter more than ever.

Should I buy a 2025 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 22.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.15% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a larger touchscreen and updated infotainment.

The bottom line:

The 2025 XC60 makes sense if you want the safer, more established buy and you find a well-priced example in the current market. If you're more price-sensitive, the 2025 is still the better path to watch closely, while the 2026 is worth considering if the updated technology matters more to you than getting the lower-priced option.
