How much does the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 13.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It is aimed at you if you want a distinctive three-row crossover with a bold look, more interior space from its longer wheelbase, and family-friendly features. The trade-offs are that the design will not suit everyone and top trims are expensive.

The market shows 35.7% of listings as good or great deals, which is a healthy sign if you are shopping carefully.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Santa Fe’s appeal is reinforced by its great warranty and the fact that Hyundai includes a broad set of convenience and safety features across the lineup. Its standard 2.5-litre turbocharged engine and AWD setup are part of a well-equipped package, while the test-drive notes point to stable cornering and responsive steering.

Hyundai also includes free roadside assistance for five years with unlimited kilometres, which helps reduce early ownership stress. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that top-trim complexity and premium features can make repairs or replacements more expensive if something goes wrong.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XRT adds off-road styling cues, black roof rails, and 18-inch wheels, while the Luxury and Ultimate Calligraphy move up in equipment and finish. The top Ultimate Calligraphy also swaps the second-row bench for captain’s chairs, so check whether you need seven-seat flexibility.
• Powertrain: The gas model uses a 2.5-litre turbocharged engine with 277 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic and standard AWD. Expect some turbo lag and occasional hesitation on downshifts.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction turning detection, lane keeping and lane following assist, a driver attention monitor, and safe exit assist. Rear parking collision avoidance assist, side park distance warning, and Highway Drive Assist require more money, and the top trim adds blind spot avoidance while the top two trims get Blind View Monitor.
• Infotainment: Every gas version gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Navigation is built in only on the Luxury and Ultimate Calligraphy trims, and over-the-air updates are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The gas model is rated at 10.6 L/100 km combined, while the XRT returns 10.8 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 3 trim levels: XRT, Luxury, and Ultimate Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• XRT: This is the most rugged-looking version, with black trim, black roof rails, and 18-inch wheels. It suits you if you want the Santa Fe’s bold design and standard equipment without chasing the most expensive trim.
• Luxury: This is the best-value choice if you want more comfort and convenience, including built-in navigation. It adds a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Ultimate Calligraphy: This is the most luxurious version, with 21-inch wheels, available digital rearview mirror, head-up display, Blind View Monitor, and a wireless charging pad that can handle two phones. It suits you if you want the most premium Santa Fe experience and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, but some advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 286 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.48% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $43,965 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $43,965 CAD sits slightly below last year's $50,814 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Santa Fe has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than they would have a year ago. If depreciation continues at this pace, resale values could remain under pressure in the near term. Even so, a well-equipped SUV with broad appeal can still hold buyer interest when it is priced competitively.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rated it “Good” in all sections except the headlight and LATCH categories, where it scored “Acceptable”.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction turning detection, lane keeping and lane following assist, a driver attention monitor, and safe exit assist as standard. Rear parking collision avoidance assist, side park distance warning, and Highway Drive Assist are not standard on every trim, so you should check the equipment list carefully if those features matter to you.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out for bold styling, more interior space, and strong technology.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $41,109 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $43,965 CAD average.
• It offers a fully redesigned look with a longer wheelbase and standard third-row seats.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year pricing context and the strongest current market data, the 2025 is the better target. If your priority is saving money and you still want the Santa Fe’s redesign benefits, the 2024 is the value-minded alternative.
