How much does the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 13.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 287 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Santa Fe is described as a bold yet practical three-row crossover, with a longer wheelbase that gives you more interior space and a strong road presence. It also brings multiple powertrain options and a great warranty, which broadens its appeal if you want a family vehicle that feels distinctive rather than conventional.

The main trade-offs are that the design may not suit everyone, some rivals offer more cargo space, and the top trims are expensive.

With 36.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a reasonable chance of finding a competitive offer if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Hyundai’s warranty coverage is a useful confidence booster for you as a used buyer, and the Santa Fe is presented as a practical family vehicle with a strong mix of space, technology, and everyday usefulness. Its standard all-wheel drive and stable road manners also support the sense that it is built for regular family duty.

The performance notes point to a stable chassis, firm brake feel, and responsive steering, which are all encouraging signs for day-to-day dependability. The main caution is that turbo lag and occasional transmission hesitation could matter if you want especially smooth passing or merging.

Hyundai also includes five years of roadside assistance with unlimited kilometres, which helps reduce early ownership stress.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is more about complexity and trim cost than basic durability, so a well-maintained example should be your priority.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XRT adds off-road-focused styling, black roof rails, and 18-inch wheels, while the top Ultimate Calligraphy gets 21-inch wheels, captain’s chairs instead of a second-row bench, and more upscale upholstery. The base setup is more family-focused, while the top trims add luxury touches but also push the price up quickly.
• Powertrain: The gas model uses a 2.5-litre turbocharged engine with 277 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic and standard AWD. The hybrid is a separate model, so make sure you are comparing the right version.
• Safety package: Every trim gets adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction turning detection, lane keeping and lane following assist, a driver attention monitor, and safe exit assist. Rear parking collision avoidance assist, side park distance warning, and Highway Drive Assist require more money, and the top trim adds blind spot avoidance while the top two trims get Blind View Monitor.
• Infotainment: Every gas version gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, while navigation is built in only on the Luxury and Ultimate Calligraphy trims. Over-the-air updates and Bluelink app connectivity are standard across the lineup.
• Fuel efficiency: The gas model is rated at 10.6 L/100 km combined, while the XRT returns 10.8 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 3 trim levels: XRT, Luxury, and Ultimate Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• XRT: This is the most distinctive choice if you want the Santa Fe’s rugged-looking trim with off-road-leaning styling, black roof rails, and 18-inch wheels. It keeps the core Santa Fe formula intact, but it is also the trim where the price starts to climb quickly relative to its off-road image.
• Luxury: This is the best-value trim if you want a more upscale Santa Fe without jumping all the way to the top model. You get the stronger comfort-and-tech mix that makes the Santa Fe appealing, plus built-in navigation.
• Ultimate Calligraphy: This is the fully loaded choice, with 21-inch wheels, captain’s chairs, a digital rearview mirror, head-up display, wireless charging for two phones, and the most premium cabin presentation. It suits you best if you want the most features and do not mind paying for them.

The top trim also adds blind spot avoidance, while the top two trims get Blind View Monitor.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 287 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $43,896 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $43,896 CAD sits slightly below last year's $50,535 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive market if prices do not rebound. The Santa Fe’s distinctive styling and strong technology help it stand out, which can support demand when the vehicle is well equipped and well maintained.

Because the top trims are expensive, resale strength may depend heavily on how much equipment your specific vehicle has and how clean its history is.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, and the IIHS rated it Good in all sections except the headlight and LATCH categories, where it scored Acceptable.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai includes a broad standard safety suite across the lineup: adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction turning detection, lane keeping and lane following assist, a driver attention monitor, and safe exit assist. Rear parking collision avoidance assist, side park distance warning, and Highway Drive Assist require a higher trim or extra spend.

The top trim adds blind spot avoidance, and the top two trims get Blind View Monitor, which shows a camera feed of your blind spot in the gauge cluster when you signal.

The main caveat is that the IIHS headlight and LATCH results are not as strong as the rest of the safety performance.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the bold styling, strong technology, and family-friendly practicality that define this generation.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $40,843 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $43,896 CAD average.
• It brings a fully redesigned look with a longer wheelbase, standard third-row seats, and a strong mix of style and practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the latest pricing context and the strongest current inventory signal, the 2025 is the better target. If your priority is saving money and you are happy with the same basic redesign theme, the 2024 is the smarter value play.
