Is the 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD a good car?

Yes — the 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It is aimed at buyers who need serious towing and hauling ability, but it also offers a more refined personality than a basic work truck, especially in higher trims. Is the 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Sierra 3500HD is built around serious-duty capability, with a wide range of cab, bed, and rear-axle configurations and available diesel power for demanding work. Its equipment spread also suggests it is designed to serve both commercial and premium-use buyers, which can be a good sign for durability-minded shoppers. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a truck this large and capable can be costly to maintain if it has been worked hard or heavily towed.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

What is the 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $92,209 CAD sits slightly below last year's $106,700 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale value may depend heavily on how well the truck is equipped and maintained. Because this is a heavy-duty model with broad appeal to both work-focused and premium buyers, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Strong configuration choices and desirable trims can help support demand when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want a heavy-duty truck with strong capability, a refined feel, and a market that currently offers some pricing relief. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years for a lower entry point, but the 2025 makes sense when you want the newer model-year package and can find a well-priced listing.

How does the 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD compare to the 2025 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

The GMC costs more on average, while the Ford offers more listings and a slightly lower average price. If you want the broader inventory and lower entry cost, the Ford has the edge; if you prefer the Sierra’s more premium-leaning character, the GMC remains a strong alternative.
