Is the 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and it fits the Sierra 3500HD’s role as a heavy-duty truck that blends serious work capability with a more refined personality than its utilitarian roots might suggest. It is aimed at buyers who need demanding towing and hauling ability while still wanting a premium feel, and its broad range of cab, bed, and axle configurations gives you flexibility to match the truck to your needs. The trim walk also helps, with useful standard equipment on the base model and more comfort and technology as you move up the range. There are 34.6% good or great deals in the market, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Sierra 3500HD is built around a heavy-duty formula that prioritises capability, with two available engines and serious towing and hauling numbers when properly equipped. Its appeal also comes from the way it balances work-first hardware with available comfort and technology, which can make it feel more complete than a bare-bones commercial truck. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a truck this large and capable can be expensive to keep if it has been worked hard or poorly maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 185 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.37% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $90,541 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $92,355 CAD sits slightly below last year's $106,605 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. Because the truck sits in a heavy-duty segment where condition, configuration, and equipment matter a lot, well-kept examples should still attract attention. The current softness may limit short-term upside, but it can also help you buy at a more reasonable entry point today.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right pick if you want the current model year’s mix of heavy-duty capability, premium-leaning character, and a market that has softened enough to create some buying opportunity. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2025 is the better choice when you want the latest version of this truck’s formula and can find a well-priced example.
