The current average of $82,558 CAD sits slightly below last year's $82,680 CAD.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable, which is helpful if you plan to resell later. A truck with steady pricing can be easier to value confidently, especially when demand is supported by strong capability and a wide trim range. If you buy well now, you may be able to preserve value reasonably well as long as the truck stays in good condition and remains desirable in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of capability, updated tech, and a more premium feel, the 2024 is the better all-around choice. If your priority is simply finding the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2024 gives you a stable market and a strong ownership signal that make it an easy year to target.
