Is the 2024 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Generally — the 2024 Toyota Sienna earns a 4/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

It stands out as a family-focused minivan with three rows of seating, power sliding doors, standard safety features, and a hybrid-only powertrain. That makes it especially appealing if you want a practical, efficiency-minded vehicle that is easy to live with.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and the technology is dated. The Sienna’s 27.2% good-or-great deal share also suggests there are worthwhile listings to consider if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Sienna’s hybrid setup is a major part of its appeal, and the expert review describes it as a fuel-sipping model that is built for everyday family use. The review also points to strong value, which usually matters when you plan to keep a vehicle for years.

Toyota’s hybrid components are covered for eight years or 160,000 kilometres, and the battery gets 10-year/240,000-kilometre coverage. For used buyers, that helps reduce long-term ownership risk, especially if you want a minivan that should be economical to run.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Sienna?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sienna is offered in LE, XLE, XSE, and Limited trim levels. The base trim gets cloth seats, three-zone climate control, and room for eight, while upper trims add features such as Bi-LED projector headlamps and more upscale cabin details.
• Powertrain: Every Sienna uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid system with two electric motors and a small battery pack. Front-wheel-drive models make 245 horsepower total, and AWD versions add a rear electric motor for extra traction.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense is standard across the board and includes lane departure alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, road sign recognition, full-speed adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: You get a nine-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 7-inch digital display in the gauge cluster. Some trims add in-dash navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, a 12-speaker JBL stereo, and an available rear-camera mirror.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid powertrain is rated at 6.6 L/100 km city, 6.5 L/100 km highway, and 6.6 L/100 km combined in front-wheel-drive form. AWD models rise slightly to 6.8 L/100 km city, 6.6 L/100 km highway, and 6.7 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Sienna is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the value-focused starting point, and it gives you the core Sienna formula of hybrid efficiency, three rows, and standard safety tech without pushing the price too far up.
• XLE: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of comfort and equipment, making it the best-value choice for many used buyers.
• XSE: This is the sportier-looking choice, with a black metallic mesh grille, black heated side mirrors, 20-inch dark wheels, and captain’s chairs instead of the second-row bench.
• Limited: This is the most upscale option, adding the most premium-feeling equipment for shoppers who want the most features in the lineup.

Toyota Safety Sense is standard across the board, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance package.

• Deal availability: 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 243 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.10% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,306 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $54,237 CAD sits slightly below last year's $58,383 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sienna has become a bit more buyer-friendly in the near term, which can make it easier for you to shop without paying peak pricing. For a future seller, the softer trend means you may need to be more competitive on asking price if you want to move the vehicle quickly.

Even so, the Sienna’s strong efficiency and family-friendly practicality should help it stay appealing to used buyers. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Sienna safe?

Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes lane departure alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, road sign recognition, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.

One caveat is that front crash prevention was rated Average by IIHS, so that is worth keeping in mind if safety is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It combines hybrid efficiency with standard safety features and optional all-wheel drive.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $49,850 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $54,237 CAD average.
• It offers the same practical family-hauler focus with strong efficiency.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $58,899 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $54,237 CAD average.
• It adds a quieter cabin and easier cargo use.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing, efficiency, and standard safety, the 2024 is the smart middle ground. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the cheaper path, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer-feeling cabin and can pay more.
