How much does the 2024 Kia Carnival cost?

Prices have softened 9.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 218 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia Carnival a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

The 2024 Kia Carnival is aimed at you if you want minivan practicality without a plain, utilitarian look. Its stylish design and strong driving character are backed by a powerful V6 and a comfortable, easy-to-live-with cabin. The trade-offs are clear: it does not offer all-wheel drive or a hybrid option, and Kia does not make folding the seats easy.

With 27.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Kia Carnival reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Kia Carnival is positioned as a practical family vehicle with a strong value proposition, and its expert assessment highlights a refined drivetrain and comfortable ride. The V6 and eight-speed automatic are described as smooth and responsive, which supports day-to-day dependability in normal use. Kia’s 5-year, 100,000-kilometre limited comprehensive warranty, including the powertrain, adds another layer of ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that mixed safety performance and the lack of some convenience features on lower trims may matter more as the vehicle ages.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Carnival?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base LX and LX+ models get cloth seats, while EX and EX+ models get leatherette upholstery and the SX gets real leather. The base LX does not come with standard heated seats or a heated steering wheel, so you may want to step up if those matter to you.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-litre V6 with an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive only. There is no all-wheel drive option and no hybrid powertrain for this model year.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes lane keep assist, lane follow assist, forward collision avoidance assist, a driver attention monitor, high beam assist, and rear parking sensors. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, junction turning collision avoidance assist, front parking sensors, and safe exit assist require the EX trim, while a surround-view camera system and blind-spot camera system are on EX+ models.
• Infotainment: LX, LX+, and EX trims get an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto become wired. Bluetooth voice recognition is standard on all trims.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 12.1 L/100 km in the city, 9.0 L/100 km on the highway, and 10.7 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Kia Carnival trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Carnival is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, LX+, EX, EX+, SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it is the most stripped-back choice. You get the core Carnival experience, yet you miss out on standard heated seats and a heated steering wheel, so it makes sense mainly if you want the lowest buy-in.
• LX+: This is the best-value trim if you want a more comfortable daily driver without jumping too far up the range. It adds the heated-seat and heated-steering-wheel equipment that the base LX lacks.
• EX: This is the smart step-up if safety and convenience matter more to you. It adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, junction turning collision avoidance assist, front parking sensors, and safe exit assist.
• EX+: This trim is for you if you want the stronger camera and visibility package. It adds the surround-view camera system and blind-spot camera system.
• SX: This is the most fully equipped version, with the 12-speaker Bose premium audio system and the most complete feature set in the range.

The safety package starts with useful standard driver-assistance features, but the more advanced equipment is concentrated in the EX, EX+, and SX trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Carnival?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 218 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.51% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,197 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Carnival's resale value?

The current average of $37,469 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,406 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you are buying now, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. The current year-round range suggests there is still room for values to move within a fairly tight band, which can help limit volatility. Strong owner satisfaction can support demand when you eventually resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia Carnival safe?

The 2024 Kia Carnival received mixed scores from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It received the top “Good” rating in the driver and passenger-side small-overlap front crash tests, and the same high score in the original versions of the moderate-overlap front and side tests. However, it received a “Marginal” rating in the updated moderate-overlap front test and a “Poor” rating in the updated side test.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes lane keep assist, lane follow assist, forward collision avoidance assist, a driver attention monitor, high beam assist, and rear parking sensors. To get blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, junction turning collision avoidance assist, front parking sensors, and safe exit assist, you need to move up to the EX trim. A surround-view camera system and a blind-spot camera system are reserved for EX+ models, while reserve parking collision avoidance assist is exclusive to the SX.

The mixed IIHS results are the main caveat to keep in mind if safety is a top priority for your used-car search.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Carnival or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Ahead of a 2025-model-year refresh, it carries over unchanged and still offers a strong driving experience with affordable pricing.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $33,826 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $37,469 CAD average.
• It makes the minivan formula feel more stylish and less obvious.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and satisfaction, the 2024 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly route and still delivers the Carnival’s core appeal.
