Used 2024 Mazda CX-5 for Sale near Thornhill, ON

How much does the 2024 Mazda CX-5 cost?

Prices have softened 8.19% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,107 listings available, which suggests healthy inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mazda CX-5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

Mazda positions it as an SUV for active urbanites, and it fits that brief well with stylish design, excellent outward visibility, a comfortable cabin, commendable quality, and impressive safety ratings. It is also genuinely enjoyable to drive, which helps explain why it remains appealing even without a full redesign.

The main trade-offs are that fuel economy can be poor in Turbo models and the technology feels outdated. For you, that means the CX-5 makes the most sense if you value driving enjoyment and a polished cabin more than maximum practicality or the latest infotainment.

20.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 CX-5 is presented as a steadily refined model rather than a radically changed one, and that continuous improvement has helped it stay appealing. Mazda also backs it with a premium-brand feel, strong quality, and a well-executed cabin, all of which support confidence in day-to-day ownership.

Its performance character is also a plus for dependability-minded shoppers: the CX-5 is described as enjoyable to drive, with responsive handling and a sophisticated road feel. Mazda Connected Services adds convenience features such as remote engine starting and a find my car function.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the CX-5’s ageing technology and weaker fuel economy may become more noticeable over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda CX-5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes GS, GX, Kuro, GT, Sport Design, Suna, and Signature. Base versions get the core safety suite, while higher trims add features such as adaptive headlights, traffic sign recognition, and, on Signature, a driver monitoring system, surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.
• Powertrain: You can shop base-engine versions or 2.5 Turbo models. The turbocharged 2.5-litre four delivers stronger output, but it is also the version called out for poor fuel economy.
• Safety package: Every CX-5 includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Higher trims add adaptive headlights and traffic sign recognition, while Signature gets the most advanced safety hardware.
• Infotainment: The CX-5 uses a 10.25-inch display, and several trim levels add wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Mazda also offers touchscreen operation for those smartphone platforms while driving.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating for the Turbo is 9.8 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, while the base engine is rated at 9.3 L/100 km combined, or 8.5 L/100 km with cylinder deactivation.

Which 2024 Mazda CX-5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 is offered in 7 trim levels: GS, GX, Kuro, GT, Sport Design, Suna, and Signature.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point if you want the CX-5’s standard safety suite and core driving character at the lowest rung of the lineup.
• GS: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it gives you a more complete everyday package while staying below the upper trims.
• Kuro: Choose this if you want a more distinctive appearance and a step up in presentation without jumping to the top end.
• GT: This trim suits you if you want a more upscale feel and more of the CX-5’s premium character.
• Sport Design: Pick this if you want a more style-focused version with a stronger visual presence.
• Suna: This is the most distinctive choice, with trim-exclusive Zircon Sand paint, Terracotta leather seats with black artificial suede inserts, a black headliner, the Turbo engine, and the Bose premium sound system.
• Signature: This is the one to buy if you want the most complete safety and convenience package, including the driver monitoring system, surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.

The safety package starts with a strong standard ADAS set on every trim, while the most advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for Signature.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda CX-5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 20.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,107 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.19% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,483 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $32,483 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,380 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you’re buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. The CX-5’s premium feel, strong safety reputation, and broad appeal should help support demand, especially among shoppers who want a stylish compact SUV with a more upscale cabin.

At the same time, its ageing technology and weaker fuel economy may limit how much pricing power it has versus newer rivals. If you plan to sell later, keeping the vehicle in clean condition and choosing a well-equipped trim should help it stand out.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-5 safe?

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 earns five-star ratings across the board from NHTSA, except for a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda equips every version with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Higher trims add adaptive headlights and traffic sign recognition, while Signature gets a driver monitoring system, surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.

One caveat is that the CX-5 did not earn an IIHS Top Safety Pick designation in 2024, even though its ratings remain strong. That makes the standard safety equipment reassuring, but not a reason to assume every trim has the same full suite of advanced hardware.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 20.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Mazda’s continuous refinement keeps the CX-5 stylish, comfortable, and enjoyable to drive.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,091 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $32,483 CAD average.
• It remains appealing, stylish, and well-rounded.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $36,000 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $32,483 CAD average.
• It keeps the sporty, upscale formula while leaning into practicality and driving enjoyment.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, refinement, and availability, the 2024 is the strongest all-round pick. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter value play.
