Used 2024 Mazda CX-5 for Sale nearToronto, ON

How much does the 2024 Mazda CX-5 cost?

Prices have softened 8.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 997 listings available, which suggests healthy inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mazda CX-5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

Mazda positions it as an SUV for active urbanites, and it fits that brief well with stylish design, excellent outward visibility, a comfortable cabin, commendable quality, and strong safety ratings. It is also genuinely enjoyable to drive, which helps explain why it remains appealing even without a full redesign.

The main trade-offs are poor fuel economy in Turbo models and limited cargo space, with technology that feels outdated. If you want a polished compact crossover that prioritises driving enjoyment and cabin quality over maximum practicality, this one makes sense.

35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Mazda’s continuous refinement approach has helped the CX-5 stay polished over time, with upgraded interior materials, seating, technology, drivetrain tuning, and suspension changes contributing to its mature feel. The standard all-wheel drive setup and the SUV’s composed road manners also support confidence in everyday use.

The turbocharged version is less appealing if you care about efficiency, but the broader package still points to a well-sorted vehicle rather than a fragile one. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is more about living with dated tech and higher running costs than worrying about basic dependability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda CX-5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base versions give you Mazda’s stylish design, excellent outward visibility, and standard advanced safety features, while higher trims add more premium touches and equipment. The biggest feature gaps at the lower end are in comfort, convenience, and upscale amenities.
• Powertrain: You can shop the base 2.5-litre four-cylinder or the 2.5 Turbo. The turbocharged engine delivers stronger output, but it is also the one associated with poorer fuel economy.
• Safety package: Every CX-5 includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Higher trims add adaptive headlights and traffic sign recognition, while the Signature gets the driver monitoring system, surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.
• Infotainment: Look for the 10.25-inch display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on several trims, and Mazda’s touchscreen capability for those phone platforms while driving. Mazda Connected Services and the Bose premium audio system are also worth checking for if you want a more upscale tech experience.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged version is rated at 9.8 L/100 km combined, while the base engine is rated at 9.3 L/100 km combined, or 8.5 L/100 km with cylinder deactivation.

Which 2024 Mazda CX-5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 is offered in 7 trim levels: GS, GX, Kuro, GT, Sport Design, Suna, and Signature.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the CX-5’s core strengths at the lowest price and are comfortable giving up some of the nicer convenience and luxury touches.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it balances the CX-5’s premium feel with a more complete equipment set.
• Kuro: Choose this if you want a more distinctive appearance and a step up in style without jumping all the way to the pricier trims.
• GT: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale daily driver with more comfort and technology.
• Sport Design: Pick this if you want a more expressive look and a richer-feeling specification.
• Suna: This is the most distinctive mainstream choice, and it stands out with the Turbo engine, exclusive styling details, and the Bose audio system.
• Signature: This is the one to buy if you want the most complete CX-5, especially for its added safety and convenience equipment.

The Signature trim is where Mazda reserves the driver monitoring system, surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda CX-5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 997 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.86% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,641 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $32,685 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,862 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the CX-5 is more buyer-friendly today than it was a year ago, which can help you enter ownership at a lower cost. For a future seller, that also means there is less room for immediate appreciation, so resale performance will depend more on condition, trim desirability, and mileage than on market momentum alone.

The model’s premium feel and strong reputation for driving enjoyment should help keep demand steady. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-5 safe?

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 earns five-star ratings across the board from NHTSA, except for a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda equips every version with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Higher trims add adaptive headlights and traffic sign recognition, while the Signature trim gets a driver monitoring system, surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.

The standard safety suite is broad, and the lane departure and lane-keeping systems are especially well tuned. The main caveat is that the CX-5 no longer carries the IIHS Top Safety Pick designation it has earned in the past.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Continuous refinement keeps the cabin polished and the driving experience engaging.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,201 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $32,685 CAD average.
• It remains appealing, stylish, and well-rounded.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $33,475 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $32,685 CAD average.
• It leans into a more desirable and sporty feel.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, refinement, and availability, the 2024 is the primary pick. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer-year alternative and are comfortable paying a bit more.
