Is the 2024 Kia Soul a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2024 Kia Soul, and that lines up with its appeal as a small, affordable vehicle that still feels practical. The Soul’s distinctive shape gives it a different look from the usual small crossover or hatchback, while its roomy interior and value-focused equipment make it useful for everyday driving. With 27.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Kia Soul reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Kia describes the Soul as a practical subcompact hatchback with a lot of space inside, and this model year also benefits from a newer chassis and updated technology. It gained a longer wheelbase and total length, which helped improve comfort and interior space, while standard heated front seats and side mirrors add to its everyday usability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure any recall work has been completed before you buy.

What is the 2024 Kia Soul's resale value?

The current average of $23,065 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,637 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Soul has become more accessible for buyers, which can also mean future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. The model’s distinctive styling and practical cabin help it remain appealing to shoppers who want something different from a typical small crossover. If demand stays steady, that combination can support resale strength better than a more ordinary compact vehicle.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Soul or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,975 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $23,065 CAD average.
• It offers strong value with a spacious cabin and distinctive styling.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the newer model-year pricing context and are focused on finding a well-priced example in today’s market. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the better value play, especially if you want the Soul’s practicality and personality for less money.
