CarGurus Analysis: 2024 Kia Soul
Summary
With 97 currently listed for sale and an average price of $23,060 CAD, 28.9% of 2024 Kia Soul listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 Kia Soul 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2024 Kia Soul stands out because it keeps the model’s quirky shape while still delivering the practicality that made it popular in the first place. Kia describes the Soul as a subcompact hatchback with a lot of space inside, and the model’s appeal has long come from being small and affordable yet practical. For buyers who want something that feels different from the usual small crossover or hatchback, that combination of distinctive styling and everyday usefulness is the Soul’s main draw.
For this generation, Kia moved the Soul onto a new chassis and added its most current technology, powertrains, and safety features. It also gained a three-centimetre longer wheelbase and 5.5-centimetre longer total length, which helped improve comfort and interior space. The 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder made 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque, and fuel economy was rated at 7.9 litres per 100 kilometres. Available equipment included dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, a 10.25-inch touchscreen on higher trims, a head-up display, and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon stereo with a subwoofer. Heated front seats and side mirrors were standard, which adds to the Soul’s value-focused appeal.
There are a few caveats to keep in mind. Kia says the turbo engine was discontinued in Canada, and the 2024 model year brought no major changes before the Soul was discontinued. The buying guide also notes that some later Soul years have had engine-related recall concerns, so shoppers should make sure any recall work has been completed. Even so, the 2024 Kia Soul remains distinctive because it blends unusual styling, generous interior space, and a strong list of features in a compact package.

Great little car for the money. The EX trim is the Way to go. Has all the bells and whistles you need. Adequate power and gets up to highway speed in a decent time. Seats are comfortable enough, and ride Quality is good for what it is. Cargo space is good for the size, especially with back sears down. Overall a good economy car.

Is the 2024 Kia Soul a good car?
Yes — the 2024 Kia Soul earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out for its quirky shape, practical interior space, and value-focused packaging, and Kia’s description of it as a subcompact hatchback with a lot of space inside matches its everyday usefulness. For you, that means it suits shopping if you want something small, affordable, and a bit different from the usual crossover or hatchback. The market also shows 26.9% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2024 Kia Soul reliable?

The 2024 Soul’s appeal is built around practicality, useful space, and a strong feature set, including standard heated front seats and side mirrors. Kia also updated this generation with newer technology, powertrains, and safety features, which supports confidence in day-to-day use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure any recall work has been completed before you commit.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Soul?

What is the 2024 Kia Soul's resale value?
The current average of $23,094 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,780 CAD.
That softer pricing suggests the Soul has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside exposure later than someone who paid closer to the prior-year average. The Soul’s distinctive styling and practical cabin should still help it stand out when you eventually list it.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
